Help heal families: Fund domestic violence intervention programs
With studies showing intimate partner violence in the U.S. has dramatically increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, I believe it’s time our state Legislature fully funds court-required domestic violence intervention programs.
"Judge Eisenberg is an excellent judge. His decisions are prudent and well-considered.He ensures that our community is safe while protecting the constitutional rights of the people who come before him.Judge Eisenberg puts the work in to make Seattle Municipal Court function as it should.I ...believe he is one of the best judges in all of Washington. Seattle is lucky to have him."
I'm grateful to have the endorsements of State Senator Reuven Carlyle (36th LD) and the 36 Legislative District Dems. Also very proud to have been rated "Exceptionally Well Qualified" by the Washingon State Joint Asian Judicial Evaluations Committee (JAJEC). And, of course, very ...proud to have the endorsement of my dog Rosco!
Thank you Christopher Kattenhorn for hosting a fundraiser earlier this week. I greatly appreciate the support of you and your many friends. Special shoutout to King County District Court Judge Matt York and attorney Matt Knauss for attending, and Sophie Townsend for her assist!
"Seattle Municipal Court is one of the most diverse benches in the country. Out of seven judges, four are former public defenders, four are women, three are African-American, and one is Lebanese-American. As a Jewish and Gay man who has been both a prosecutor and defense attorney, he brings a... much-needed perspective to the court."
Youth Delivering Justice! So proud to be Co-Director of our Seattle Youth Traffic Court. Today, Garfield High School students presided over their first hearings of the school year. In Youth Court, they serve as judges, jurors, prosecutors and defense attorneys for teens who got traffic tickets in... Seattle. Co-Director Margaret Fisher and her Seattle University Law School student volunteers keep the hearings on track, and Seattle Police Officer Tre Smith volunteers his time to provide safe driving tips. Magistrate Jerome Roaché is also a Co-Director, and Al Snyder supervises the Garfield High School students.
Great news! I've received the endorsement of the Teamsters Joint Council 28 and Teamsters Locals. The Joint Council of Teamsters No. 28 supports the Local Unions and their membership across Washington, Alaska, and Northern Idaho. I cannot thank them enough for their endorsement and support!
